2 Timothy 2:3-7

You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ

Workout launch - Saturday September 20th

We're getting deep in the challenge now and this week's workout is designed by our friends from the Mountains.  Slightly different format this week with 2 components of the workout equaling your total score.  Hopefully your legs have overcome the pain of last weeks workout!

During Week 3 we'll focus on 3 key attributes

1 - Soldier

2 - Athlete

3 - Farmer

Well done to the brothers who have completed all workouts so far!  Remember you can always catch up with several midweek options happening, or if you want to challenge yourself to a redo you can complete as many times as you like, your last submitted result is the one that counts!

The Word

“You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.”‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭3‬-‭7‬ ‭NKJV

UNDERSTANDING... life is hard and sitting in it.The soldier is focused , specific in duty and subordinate to his higher commandOutside affairs entangle the man with an insubordinate heart towards ChristUNDERSTANDING... there are rules. The life lived out by the athlete is one of guidelines, training, specificity, action. The believer does not compete, train, apply, and execute just to DNF the work set out for them. They follow the structured rules in training ( being along ) and executing ( in this world )Lest we not be disqualified.UNDERSTANDING... hard work. As men we are responsible for what we plant in our lives. Not pivot the responsibility onto anyone else but our actions only. The farmer plants in faithfulness, what comes from our handwork is the direct result of the actions taken. We taste our actions and consequences first, whether good or bad.All hardworking / stable / disciplined actions of a soldier/ athlete and farmer directly relate to our walk with the Lord. Seeing it through to the very end.
